Leadership Team
Meetings Sponsors Technology Standards
TECH team participants were chosen by the
sponsors based on the student's attitude, behavior, and interest in
technology.
There are ten students that are currently involved in the Payne TECH Team.
Six of them are fifth graders, the others are from fourth grade.
Students had to sign a code of conduct as well as have their parent/guardian
sign a permission slip.
Meetings are held once a week during lunch. Students eat their lunch while
they meet with the sponsors. When lunch is completed, students work with
various forms of technology.
Students that are part of the Payne TECH Team are learning to:

Provide
settings for students to instruct and support staff with technology.
Hardware: Setting up, maintenance, cleaning, movement of equipment
Software: Usage, identify and open programs,
navigate throughout programs,
integrate with curriculum
Peripherals: projectors, SmartBoards, Alphasmarts

Provide
opportunities for students to lead tours of the building and ways that
technology is being utilized in the building.

Interact
with the community (teach parents
and other community members)
·
Have
students present learning to site council.

| April 26 | Four members of the Tech Team went to the JFISC to share at the E-Showcase. |
| May 2nd | Members of the team that represented at the E-Showcase shared with the others what they had learned, as well as ideas for next years Tech Team. |
| May 9th | Team was shown how to perform a system defrag
and disk cleanup on computers to assist teachers with the procedure. Families were invited to an Ice Cream Social so that members could share what they have learned with their families. |
| May 16th | Sponsors will show team mates how to unplug computer cables from the wall so they can assist teachers. |
| Last Week of School | TECH team members will show teachers how to prepare their computers for the summer. |
